Ace Dance Academy Faculty
Emily Mootz is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer native to Santa Cruz, California. She recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Dance from Saint Mary’s College of California, and is continuing on to earn an MFA in Dance. She began dancing at the age of 3, and quickly fell in love with the art form. She started taking classes at Elaine’s Dance Studio, where she performed competitively in styles such as contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and tap. In her high school years, Emily began choreographing independently, where her work was featured in several local productions. She also took on an assistant teaching role at Elaine’s Dance Studio, where she was able to expand upon her pedagogical knowledge and choreographic experience. She has performed with the Saint Mary’s Dance Company for the past four years, and most recently her work was chosen to represent the company in multiple dance film festivals across the world. She has also had the opportunity to teach in Suzhou, China where she taught a Performing Arts camp alongside Bay Area professionals. Emily is thrilled to be joining the Ace family, and hopes to share her passion for dance with all of her students.
