Ensemble Choreographer

Catalina has been dancing since she was in first grade. While she lived in South Bend, Indiana, she danced with Debbie Werbrouck School of Dance and Patchwork Dance Company. She moved to Gilroy, California in time for high school and danced with South Valley Dance Arts and Bay Ballet Academy. When she went to college, she was introduced to modern dance and began to study the form with passion. During this time, Catalina also immersed herself in the study of flamenco dance. In May 2019 she graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with Bachelors degrees in Dance, Spanish, and Art History. In her time at Saint Mary’s Catalina performed in several dance performances, with both the undergraduate and graduate programs. She also had the opportunity to perform with Davalos Dance Company’s Radical Acts of Love in Panicale, Italy in July 2018. The site-specific piece was centered on the current social issues of the United States. In July 2019 Catalina worked at a Musical Summer Camp in Suzhou, China. Catalina is thrilled to join the Ace faculty and is looking forward to working with the students to create a sense of joy and confidence through movement.

To dance is to be out of yourself.
Larger, more beautiful, more powerful.
