Ensemble Choreographer, Instructor | BA in Theatre Arts, with a Dance Concentration

Amy Lynn McGrath has danced and performed her entire life. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts, with a dance concentration, and has been teaching dance for 24 years. Beginning dance class at age 2 ½, she plans to spend the rest of her life training, teaching, and choreographing. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, she trained with the notable Schumacher’s School of Dance in South San Francisco before continuing on to study in Boston at Emerson College, and later, at Sonoma State University.

Amy has taught dance and choreographed musicals all over the country.  From 2008 to 2013, she was the proud owner of McGrath’s Performing Arts Academy, a dance studio in Sonoma County. She also co-founded the non-profit organization STAR Kids, a musical theatre company for children. Amy has choreographed for many competitive dance teams, receiving top place awards at the regional, national, and international levels. Her work has also been performed at The American College Dance Festival.  

Amy currently teaches dance and choreographs throughout the Bay Area. She is also the Program Coordinator for Tamalpa Institute, a dance and expressive arts therapy program.  Amy is extremely proud to be a faculty member at Ace Dance Academy.
