Dance Instructor | BFA in Ballet Performance

Katy is originally from New York where she trained in the Royal Academy of Dance ballet technique. During high school, Katy performed in the youth ballet company, the Mohawk Valley Ballet, under the direction of Delia Foley. She also participated in summer intensives through Boston Ballet, North Carolina Ballet Theatre, and the New York State Summer School of the Arts. Katy went on to study ballet performance at the University of Utah under the guidance of teachers Conrad Ludlow, Sharee Lane, and Maureen Laird. She performed in several student and faculty led productions as well as choreographing her own pieces throughout her college years. After receiving her BFA in Ballet Performance Cum Laude, Katy moved to New York City to study childhood education at Bank Street College. Teaching early childhood grades in inner city schools, Katy continued to pursue her passion of ballet, dancing in Giada Ferrone's production of The Nutcracker, a Contemporary Ballet. Most recently, Katy taught ballet at Precision Dance Academy in Sacramento. She is excited to be teaching ballet at Ace and looks forward to sharing her love of the art form with her inspiring students!
